The workout stimulus is the primary goal that you pursue during your workout.
Every workout you want to give your body a new stimulus to adapt positively. You give your body this stimulus by creating "overload" in a specific system. We have set up the parameters of your training in such a way that you give exactly the desired stimulus, so that you can reach your goal as quickly as possible. In the graph we have shown what exactly happens during your training.

Point A in the graph is the level you are at when you enter the gym (“homeostasis”). During your training, every repetition you do builds up a little more fatigue and you create the stimulus you need to trigger a positive adjustment of your body. As you can see, you actually become weaker during your training!
At point B the workout stimulus is big enough and the work for that workout is done. You have given your body the stimulus to get better and you will now need to rest to recover. Nutrition, rest and relaxation are essential here. During your rest period, your body recovers and protects itself against the next stimulus. Your body does this by making itself stronger. It will be slightly better than it was before the last practice. We call this “super compensation” in theory.
Ideally you give the following training stimulus at point C. When this is, you don't have to think about it. We have taken this into account when creating your total training plan. In any case, it is important that you do not train too early and also not too late. Then you have not yet recovered sufficiently and you are more likely to work against the achievement of results than contribute to it. Or you make insufficient use (if you train too late) of the peak that arises as a result of the super compensation. Remember: More is not better, better is better!
In summary: You come to the gym for one purpose. Creating the workout stimulus. Once this is successful, you will want to get back into recovery mode as soon as possible.
